Are you interested in caring for streams and creeks in Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows? Would you like to learn how to map and monitor the health of these streams and creeks? Do you have local knowledge about fish, wildlife, plants you would like to share with other volunteers?
ARMS will be hosting a 2 training day session with the Pacific Streamkeepers Federation from 14 to 15 September from 9:30 – 4:30 p.m in Maple Ridge. A limited number of positions is available – free for interested participants. Funding courtesy of Vancity Community Project Grants.
Training will include:
* Intro to stream habitat survey
* Stream invertebrate survey
* Juvenile fish trapping
* Advanced stream habitat survey
* Water quality survey
* Streamside planting
Upon completion, a certificate is awarded to each participant upon completion of both days.
