The 21st Annual Ridge Meadows Rivers Day is Sunday, September 28th. The festival will have live musical entertainment including Two Tall Women, Chico & Tim, Gord & Trish, Click & Clown, face-painting by the Emerald Pig Society, environmental exhibitors, and the much-loved trout fishing pond with the BC Federation of Drift Fishers. Activities include scavenger hunts, nature walks, and birdhouse building, with materials donated by
DonCol Nature Products. BC Corrections management will host the BBQ and Maple Ridge Lions have generously donated the use of their popcorn machine, with all funds raised from food sales going towards the 2015 Rivers Day event next year. Local MP’s and representatives from the City of Maple Ridge and City of Pitt Meadows will also be on hand to welcome the community to this fantastic day of fun and celebration of rivers!
Ridge Meadows Rivers Day is made possible with financial assistance from Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows Parks & Leisure Services and the BC Hydro Community Grant. Other supporters include: RE/MAX, the Maple Ridge Agricultural Association, the Emerald Pig Society, BC Corrections, BC Federation of Drift Fishers, A-Z Rentals, Pacific Salmon Foundation, and DonCol Nature Products. Silent auction items have been donated by Fraser Regional Corrections, Hatch Match’r, Fly & Tackle, Triple Tree Nursery, Redl Sports Group, the Bee Lady, Canadian Tire, Rona, and local artist Liz Hancock.
