Cheryl Power is a Registered Professional Forester with 30 years experience in the forests of BC. She is a graduate of the UBC Faculty of Forestry and the Silviculture Institute of BC. Cheryl’s background is primarily in forest ecology, sustainable forest management, and silviculture. Currently Resident Forester at the UBC Malcolm Knapp Research Forest in Maple Ridge, she is involved with planning, silviculture, information resources, teaching and training. Her interests and special projects include development of ecosystem-based forest management techniques, such as regeneration of diverse conifer-broadleaf mixed forests, protection of rare and sensitive species and ecosystems, and fish habitat restoration. She has also had the opportunity to teach and learn in other parts of the world such as China, Europe and the USA.
