During all seasons, when high water flows through the South Alouette and when BC Hydro release water over the dam to lower the reservoir levels, local residents are asked to report any sightings of stranded fry in large amounts. To report please post on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram by using the hashtag #AlouetteStrandedFry, upload a picture, the location, date and time found.

All information gathered will be sent to the Department of Fisheries and Oceans and the City of Maple Ridge to better manage and understand the Alouette River’s flow and the salmonid species.
